Compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy in a warm, confidential setting — helping children, teens, and families navigate anxiety, behavioral challenges, and life transitions.
"Every child deserves a voice that is heard."
The Child & Family Psychotherapy Center was founded on a simple conviction: that children and families facing emotional and behavioral challenges deserve access to thoughtful, skilled care in a setting that feels safe and supportive.
Located on Broadway in North Haven, our practice serves families across New Haven County and beyond. We work with children, adolescents, and adults — and we recognize that when one family member struggles, the whole family is affected. That is why our approach is as much about strengthening family dynamics as it is about individual growth.
Every treatment plan is tailored to the person in front of us. We draw from established, evidence-based methods and adapt them to the unique needs, temperament, and circumstances of each client. No shortcuts. No one-size-fits-all.
We offer a range of therapeutic services designed to meet children, teens, and families where they are — with clinical expertise, genuine warmth, and a commitment to real, lasting change.
One-on-one sessions providing a safe, developmentally appropriate space for children to express emotions, build coping skills, and work through anxiety, trauma, or behavioral concerns.
Specialized support for teens navigating depression, anxiety, identity, academic pressure, social challenges, and other emotional difficulties unique to the adolescent years.
Strengthening family communication, resolving conflict, and building healthier relational patterns — because the family system is both the source of challenge and the foundation of healing.
Evidence-based approaches including CBT and exposure techniques to help children and teens manage anxiety disorders, phobias, OCD, and school-related avoidance.
Practical strategies for children experiencing ADHD, oppositional behaviors, emotional regulation difficulties, and other challenges that affect home and school functioning.
Empowering parents with tools, understanding, and strategies to support their child's emotional development and strengthen the parent-child relationship.
We believe the best therapy happens when proven techniques meet a deep, personal connection. Our clinicians are trained in a range of evidence-based modalities and select the approach that best fits each child and family.
We take the time to understand the full picture — your child's strengths, challenges, history, and goals — before recommending a treatment plan.
You are a partner in the process. We discuss options, answer questions, and adjust the plan as your child progresses.
Therapy is not static. We regularly check in on progress and adapt our strategies to ensure your family is moving in the right direction.
"We were lost and didn't know where to turn. From the first phone call, we felt heard and understood. Our son is thriving in a way we didn't think possible."
